After much struggle and conflict, the free 10-year-old Dell R220 Server is up and running well. It passed all diagnostics and hdparm tells me the hard drive has only been run for 2 years – so it’s all good! Now I just have to start adding my scripts and study notes from Hack the Box’s CPTS course which I’ll be taking as soon as I’m done with studying. Hopefully there won’t be any long pauses like this server setup to slow me down. Between work, parenting and sleep it took about a week to get it going. More to come..
